Today marks 11 years since the events of September 11, 2001. Around the world, people will pause and remember where they were and what they were doing on that day.
Thousands will gather at the World Trade Center site in New York, at the Pentagon in Washington, and in Pennsylvania to read the names of the nearly 3,000 people killed in four suicide attacks.

Every day, Canadian Heroes remembers the fallen men and women of the Canadian Forces. Today, we honour those who lost their lives on September 11, their families and their friends. We also honour those who took up the fight against terrorism.

To those who served, to those who died, to those who lost friends and loved ones, and to all who were affected by September 11... Never forget.
